Qualifications: Age requirement is 15 years old.

Can work varied shifts, including weekends, evenings, and Holidays.  All applicants are required to obtain and maintain a valid StarGuard Elite lifeguarding certification. This certification cost is covered by Myrtle Waves and is the onboarding requirements for employment.

 Lifeguards are required to pass a Starguard Elite Lifeguard Certification Course to become a Lifeguard.  These classes are NOT paid trainings as they are a part of the placement to become a lifeguard.  Applicants that pass this course will become lifeguards and receive a Starguard Elite lifeguard certificate. All after hours mandatory in-service training courses to maintain the certification are considered paid trainings

Lifeguards are responsible for the prevention of injury and the safety of guests in all bodies of water and all park attractions. Lifeguards are to maintain vigilant surveillance of their assigned zone and be prepared to render aid to anyone in distress or suffering from an illness or injury. Team members in this position must safely and efficiently dispatch guests from slides and ensure guests exit safely prior to sending the next guest down. Applicants are required to have great guest service skills and be comfortable with explaining the waterpark’s rules to guests ensuring they are being followed, especially those pertaining to safety.

Lifeguards also assist in keeping the waterpark clean and organized, whether that is through scheduled morning cleanings, picking up trash during the day, or cleaning and organizing chairs and tubes at the end of the day.

Physical demands: Include the ability to adequately perform the emergency care skills taught during lifeguard certification and on-going trainings, standing for long periods of time, and tolerance to prolonged exposure to sunlight, hot temperatures, and inclement weather. Able to lift and/or move at least 50 pounds.

Certification initiatives:

  • Possess excellent swimming skills.
  • Swim 50 yards without stopping.
  • Swim 50 yards with a rescue tube without stopping.
  • Tread 1 minute without hands.
  • Retrieve 10lb object from bottom of pool.

Other requirements:

  • Ability to rescue swimmers in distress if necessary.
  • Administer first aid and/or artificial respiration when necessary.
  • Give swimming instructions to the guests in the pool.
  • Maintains order and discipline in pool and surrounding areas to prevent accidents.
  • Maintains surveillance of the pool and surrounding areas; assures order and adherence to safety regulations.

Myrtle Waves Waterpark is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Cabana Server.  This position will provide exceptional service while also ensuring guests have an enjoyable and memorable experience. Primary responsibilities will include sales and up sales of menu items, serving food and beverages in Cabana areas, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting guests with any needs they may have during their visit.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for service, have strong sales and upselling skills with a persuasive, guest-first approach along with a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experience in a fun and dynamic environment.

Qualifications: Age requirement is 18 years old

Must be able to work varied shifts, including weekends and Holidays.
